Gender Predictor Quiz
A playful Chinese gender chart and folk-wisdom quiz, wrapped in a clear entertainment-only disclaimer.
This is a bit of fun, not science. Enter the mother's birth date and an estimated conception date for the traditional Chinese chart, then answer a few light-hearted folk questions. You will see both results side by side and a combined vibe verdict.

How it works
The Chinese gender chart is a traditional folk table. It uses two inputs: the mother's lunar age at conception and the lunar month of conception. Lunar age is counted from 1 at birth and increases at Chinese New Year, so it is usually one or two years higher than everyday age. The calculator converts both dates with a lunar calendar library, then looks up the cell at that age and month.
The chart covers lunar ages 18 to 45 and lunar months 1 to 12. A date before Chinese New Year belongs to the previous lunar year, even after 1 January. Leap months use the same numbered column as the regular month and get a small tag, which is a common convention. If the mother's lunar age falls outside 18–45, the chart gives a friendly out-of-range message instead of guessing.
The folk quiz is a separate bit of play. Each answer adds a point toward boy or girl, and the final tally is shown as a playful percentage. The questions are based on old wives' tales, not evidence. The combined verdict simply compares the chart result with the quiz result and says whether the vibes agree.
This page is for entertainment only. It has no scientific basis. The only reliable ways to learn a baby's sex are medical, such as ultrasound or a blood test. Please do not use it for pregnancy decisions. The dates you enter stay in your browser and are never stored.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Chinese gender chart accurate?
No. It is folklore. Large studies have found that the chart performs about as well as a coin flip. It is included here for fun, not as a prediction.
How is lunar age calculated?
Lunar age is the lunar year of conception minus the lunar year of birth, plus one. A person counts as 1 at birth and gains a year at Chinese New Year, not on their birthday.
What if conception was before Chinese New Year?
A date in January or early February can still belong to the previous lunar year. The calculator converts the date properly, so it uses the previous lunar year until Chinese New Year arrives.
What about leap lunar months?
A leap month repeats the number of the month before it. This calculator uses the same numbered column and shows a small leap-month tag so you know the convention.
Can this tell me my baby's sex?
No. Only medical tests such as ultrasound or blood tests can do that. This page is entertainment and should never replace medical advice.
What do the quiz percentages mean?
They are just the share of folk-quiz points that went to boy or girl. They are not a real probability and have no scientific meaning.
